Generator Engineer



Gas Generator Service Engineer



My client are looking for a service engineer for the service, repair and maintenance of landfill gas generators.



The site is based around Edinburgh but there will be an element of travel involved.



Due to the nature of the job you will need to be an experienced service engineer with experience of gas powered generators and also HV switching.





JOB PURPOSE



• Responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable day to day operation and maintenance of landfill gas utilisation equipment.

Ensure that generators are run efficiently and safely

 Train and coach engine management and defect rectification to local teams

 Ensure CMMS routines are optimised to increase up time



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES





1. Provide monitoring, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to the LFG utilisation plant. Acting on information received, maintain operational efficiency including the implementation of short-term remedial measures where necessary.



2. Attend site for unplanned stoppages and seek to bring plant on line with minimal down time.



3. Co-ordinate and lead the Regions tuning and mapping for Cummins engines and assist with other engine type operations ensuring compliance with requisite licences, permits, consents and other legal requirements.



4. Instruct, coach and assess other Operations Staff in Cummins engine control, operations and planned maintenance including overhauls, delegating specific tasks where appropriate.



5. Assist Operations Staff to identify, specify and schedule optimum cyclical maintenance.
